What a wonderful day today.....your children are awesome and its so wonderful to look at the older ones and see them playing such awesome soccer with wonderful skills. This has been a challenging season. We are blessed to have so many new players.....and watching them grow, learn and develop skills becomes a wonderful thing to behold. We have been challenged by not always being sure we will have enough volunteers to give the one on one or two or three to one that your children may so need to be successful. But amazingly volunteers have come forward. Today we had about 10 students from MacKechnie school..all grade 7 students. Two weeks ago, we had a large group of friends of one of our regular volunteers join him on the field. Most of our volunteers do not have any expertise with children or adults with special needs. They do so well..experience and training is not necessary. They only need patience, caring and a willingness to support, care and follow the cues of your children. If only all the adults in the "real " world would do the same. So please make sure you thank them...and if you have any siblings, family members or friends who would like to be on the field we could so use their help. We never know who will show up, and their support is what makes this all work successfully for your children. This volunteering makes life long changes in all our volunteers..we have seen so many of them work with us and then go onto continued education and work with a greater knowledge and understanding of differences. Many of them have also chosen fields related to special needs, because of spending time with your children. We have been blessed to have coaches who have been with us from the beginning....they too.....are the " glue" that helps hold us together. Do thank them for their continued support, caring and great coaching. We only have two more weeks of soccer left. We will finish this season on October 31. We invite you to bring your players in their Halloween costumes if they so desire, hoping that they can still play soccer...maybe with taking something off for the time of play. We also ask that if you are NOT COMING BACK for the SPRING SEASON...April, May and June of 2016 that you bring back your uniform and we will give you back your cheque. IF YOU ARE COMING BACK IN THE SPRING.....please come and tell us that you are, you may keep the uniform and we will keep your cheque. All the best for a wonderful week.......thank you for having such amazing children. Barbara
